CONDITIONS & RULES OF ISGC MAIL AUCTION SALES

  1. Bids not received on Bid Sheet furnished (in El Quetzal) will be considered as received last for the resolution of tie bids, except when entered by e-mail.

  2. Bids must be submitted so as to reach the Auction Manager not later than the announced closing date for the auction, as indicated on the first page of the listing of lots.  If distribution of El Quetzal is delayed, sufficient time will be given to members receiving the journal by airmail to enter bids after the closing date.

  3. Lots will be sold to the highest bidder at the next bidding increment over the next highest bid.  In case of a tie, the bid posted or e-mailed the earliest date will prevail.

  4. Successful bidders will be forwarded lots promptly after closing of sale, provided there is no previous unsettled debt to the ISGC.  Settlement from buyers is expected within 14 days of receipt of lots.  In case of late payment, an interest of 1.5% per month beginning 30 days after date of invoice (60 days for overseas members) will be assessed, and prepayment of lots will be required in subsequent sales.

  5. Postage, registration and insurance will be charged, along with a 50¢ packaging fee. All invoices over $100.00 in value will be charged $1.00 for our ISGC insurance fee.

  7. Consignors may place a minimum reserve on any lot.  If unsold, 5% of the minimum reserve will be assessed, plus return postage costs.

  9. A list of prices realized will be published in a subsequent issue of El Quetzal following the sale.

  10. All lots are guaranteed genuine unless otherwise described.  The Auction Manager must be notified within one week if the genuineness of one or more stamps in a lot is questioned.  In case of returns for any reason, the complete lot, as sold, must be returned, intact.
